About the pills

Does the abortion pill hurt?

Cramping and bleeding are expected. You can know what “expected” means — and when it is no longer that.

What it can feel like

Cramping can be worse than a period. It can come in waves. Bleeding is often heavier than a heavy period. You may feel sick to your stomach. You may feel worn out. That does not make it labor as a medical term.

Everyone’s night is a little different. You do not have to be stoic about it, and you do not have to diagnose it from a photo on your phone.

Expected is not the same as an emergency

If you soak two thick pads an hour for two hours, faint, cannot stay upright, or have one-sided or shoulder-tip pain, that is an ER. The full flag list is on Side effects. Do not wait on a chat window if you are crashing.

Talk with a nurse

A listed pregnancy center may see you at their location. A nurse can talk with you here — chat, or the form. Free and private. You decide.

Ask a nurse to follow up

Would you rather chat with a nurse now, or send the form and have someone write back? Free and private. You choose.
